Born in rural Mt. Vernon, Illinois, son of Charles and Elta (Coriell) Beal. Married Virginia A. (Case) on September 26, 1948 and she preceded him in death on May 24, 2011. Survived by his son and daughter-in-law; two granddaughters; step-grandson; three great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and also special grand dog, Chance Beal. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Virginia A. Beal; granddaughter, Cassandra Beal; three brothers, Roy Beal and wife Ruby, Frank Beal and wife Isabel and Homer Beal and wife Etheln; two sister, Florence and husband Wilbur Tate and Flossie and husband Lewis Tate; infant sister, Henrietta Beal; brother-in-law, Maxey Case and wife Lou; brother-in-law, James Alvis.
Funeral services were Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Burial followed at the Jordan Chapel Cemetery in Texico with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post 141 in Mt. Vernon. Arrangements with Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Memorials may be made to St. Louis Children's Hospital.
