"William J. Zimmer, Sr., 66, an employee of the Port Huron Board of Education, died today in his home, 1210 Short Street, after a long illness. He was born October 12, 1891, in St. Clair. He lived in Port Huron 29 years. Mr. Zimmer was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He and Miss Margaret Ann Hartman were married February 14, 1911, in St. Clair. He is survived by his widow; two sons, William J. Jr., Caracas, Venezuela and Richard B., Port Huron; three daughters, Mrs. Bruce VanBuskirk, St. Clair, Mrs. Melvin Bark, Port Huron, and Mrs. Rheinhold Fisher, Sarnia; four sisters, Mrs. Gust Yeip and Mrs. Clara Chute, St. Clair, Mrs. L. G. Dufour, River Rouge, and Mrs. B. H. Brown, Detroit; a brother, Anthony Zimmer, St. Clair; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. The remains are in Arthur Smith Funeral Home. Requiem Mass will be sung in funeral services 9 a.m. Saturday, St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Rev. Daniel J. Murphy, assistant pastor, will officiate.
