SPRINGFIELD - The graveside funeral will be held Dec. 30 for Harald Aldal of Springfield, who died Dec. 24 of age-related causes. He was 91.

He was born Nov. 11, 1914, in Puposky, Minn., to Ole and Sophie Annonson Aldal. He and his first wife, Ilene, were married Oct. 12, 1942, in Puposky. She died Dec. 12, 1963. He married Grace Johnson on Oct. 23, 1965, in Minneapolis. She died Nov. 21, 1996.

Aldal served in the Navy as a cabinetmaker and spend time in Germany and Norway.

He worked as a brick and stone mason and specialized in fireplaces. He enjoyed the outdoors, travel, horses and all animals, He also enjoyed building.

Survivors include six children, Donnamarie Langan of Eugene; Harold of Blue River, Milton of Penrose, Colo., Peggy Brown of Little Rock, Ark., Roberta Fults of Hillsboro and James of Winter Haven, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friday's service will be held at 10 a.m. at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
