David Allard was born Feb. 15, 1828, departed this life Feb. 5, 1908 age nearly 80 yr. old. Professed faith in Christ and he and his wife, Rosanna joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he remained until death. He was married March 1847 to Rosanna J. Simmons to this union nine children were born. Going on ahead leaving his wife, and children and a host of relatives to mourn his death. Funeral services were held by Eld. Jessie Davidson and the remains were laid to rest in Kerley Cemetery. ( Handwritten in William Calvin Simmons' Journal.)
