Caroline Sparks Hall was my great-grandmother. Daughter of Richard Henry Sparks, a coalminer, and Mary Davis. Wife of Thomas Hall, also a coalminer. Mother of eleven children, including my grandfather, John Hall. She was born in 1850 in Tipton, Staffordshire, England. She married Thomas Hall on December 25, 1868 in St. Mark's Church in Staffordshire, England. From Staffordshire she moved with family to Mexborough, Yorkshire, England. Thomas was probably looking for the next mine. She came with her family to the US in 1888. She resided in Houtzdale, PA for about 5 years and then moved to South Fork PA where she died in 1908.
