On 20 March 1756, in Somers, CT, Anna Root married Noah Allen, son of Joseph and Mary Allen.

They had seven children, all born in East Windsor, CT:
1. Noah Allen, born 14 February 1757, married Elizabeth Trowbridge and later Mary Potwine.
2. Timothy Allen, born 25 November 1759, married Margaret Peggy Shaw.
3. Elihu Allen, born 18 September 1761.
4. Jonathan Allen, born 16 May 1763.
5. Anna Allen, born 18 June 1765, married Gideon Drake.
6. Peter Allen, born 18 March 1767.
7. Daniel Allen, born 31 January 1770, married Submit Bancroft.
