He retired after working many years as a self-employed painter. He was a U.S. Army veteran that served during WWII. He was a member of West Paris Baptist Church. Raymond loved selling and eating watermelons, cantaloupes, and working at the fruit stand.
Raymond was born July 5, 1927, in Greenfield, TN, to the late Eunice Allen Hart and Lula Lee Hart.
He was married December 13, 1947, to Sue Nell Farris Hart, who preceded him in death on November 5, 2003.
He is survived by one daughter, Brenda (Danny) Robbins of Paris, TN; special friend, Faye Bomar of Paris, TN; one sister, Imogene Wagnon of Paris, TN; two grandchildren Kim (Larry) Collums of Paris, TN, and Lauren (Michael) Goff of McKenzie, TN; two step grandchildren, Kerri (Tony) Atwill of Paris, TN, and Spencer (Tiffany) Robbins of Paris, TN; two great grandchildren, Courtland Collums and Kristofer Collums; and seven step great grandchildren, Trae Atwill, Andrew Atwill, Rachael Evans, Landon Robbins, Drake Robbins, Jace Robbins, and Jaxon Robbins.
Along with his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Wanda Sue Ball; one sister, Mary Goodwin; and three brothers, Robert Hart, Ralph Hart, and A.R. “Fuzzy” Hart.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Saturday, July 21, 2018, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and continue Sunday, July 22, 2018, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be Sunday, July 22, 2018, at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Chad Kennedy officiating.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Hart, Randy Hart, Ted Hart, Frank Valentine, Charlie Dyer, and Mitch Stallcup.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris, TN.
