David S. Harrold Laid To Rest In Oxford Cemetery Sunday

Death came Friday to David S. Harrold, a brother of Mrs. William Harney of Oxford. David S. Harrold, son of Daniel and Elizabeth Obernour Harrold, was born at Windham, Iowa, November 14, 1869. The early part of his life was spent around Iowa City, Iowa, and Rock Island, Illinois. About forty years ago, he and a brother Samuel, went to Stutsman county, North Dakota, where each had earned the rights to land. The title to this patent or property was issued to them in 1910. Several years later they moved to Cleveland, where they operated a battery and repair shop. Since the death of his brother, three years ago, a greater portion of the winter months was spent in the home of a niece, Mrs. James. H. Bell at Lone Tree. He was staying in her home at the time he was stricken with a paralytic stroke, and passed away several hours later, on March 12, 1943 (Age 73 years, 3 months and 18 days.) He was affiliated with the Unity Presbyterian church. Funeral services were held at the Bell residence Sunday afternoon at 1:00, conducted by Rev. Duhan of the E. & R. church at Lone Tree. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother. A sister, Mrs. William Harney of Oxford survive, also 5 nieces and 5 nephews. Interment was in the Oxford cemetery in the family lot.
