WHEATFIELD — Helen Mellott, 96, of Wheatfield, Saturday (April 5, 2014). Mrs. Mellott was born in Surveyor, PA on October 11, 1917 to James and Carrie (Edwards) Shaw. Helen was a manager for S&H Green Stamps and was an active member of Lasalle Church of Christ. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, listening to music and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Albert Gray Mellott, who died in 2002; her brothers, Rex (Frances), Keith (Jean), Lee (Althea) and Guy (Sherri) Shaw.
Mrs. Mellott is survived by her children, S. James (Cheryl), Renee and the late N. Keith, Diane and the late Victor Mellott; sister of Bernice (Jack) Collins, Dean (Fay) Shaw, Hugh (Judy) Shaw and Aggie (the late Harold) Vanderburgh; grandmother of nine, great-grandmother of 22 and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Wattengel Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Drive, (NEW LOCATION) North Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 AM. Interment, Acacia Park. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice.
