Services for Gertrude Bishop, 73, will be held Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Brothers Dennis Beal and Richard Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 11:00 AM until service time. Mrs. Bishop, a retired employee of the Viskase Corporation in Kentland, Indiana, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at her residence. She was born on February 15, 1940 in Atwood, TN to Albert Britton and Mary Elizabeth Tubbs Beal. She was a member of Enon Missionary Baptist Church in McKenzie. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters: Lillie May Beal, Jane Hargis, Sue Nanney, and Inita Beal Bevil, four brothers: Joe Beal, Wesley Beal, David Beal, and Tom Beal.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years Emanuel Bishop, Jr. of McKenzie, they were married on April 2, 1962, a daughter Pennie (Lou) Bishop of McKenzie, a son David Emanuel (Becky) Bishop of Kentland IN, two brothers: Brother Dennis (Louise) Beal and Leon (Billie) Beal of McKenzie, TN, four grandchildren Jacob Bishop, Nathin Bishop, Justin Bishop, and Kaitlyn Bishop.
