(Captain) Thomas Torkel Olsen, Jr., died Thursday, March 7, in Baton Rouge. A native of Tampa, Fla., and former resident of New Orleans and Mobile, Ala., he was 76 and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a lieutenant in the Navy in World War I and a lieutenant commander in the Coast Guard in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Irma Peters Olsen, Baton Rouge; three sons, Thomas Torkel Olsen, III and Ray Oscar Olsen, both of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Rodney G. Olsen, Sr., Baton Rouge; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond Brinley (Elaine) Smith, Jr., Mobile, Ala.; one sister, Mrs. Fredericka Mann, Tampa, Fla.; three brothers, Edward and George Olsen, both of Tampa, Fla., and Oscar Olsen, Northport, N.Y., and 16 grandchildren.
