He married Victoria Bray and together had seven children.
Brother Walden was called to preach in 1900. He was pastor of several Baptist Churches in Kentucky and drove a buggy or rode a horse often many miles.
One of the highlights of his ministry was while he was pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church in Allen County, Kentucky. During the revival (which lasted four weeks), there were seventy-three people saved. It took two different days to baptize them.
He preached his last message in December of 1935 and passed away in January of 1936.
