Funeral services for Leon C. Forgue of the Culbertson community were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 23 in St. Patrick's Catholic church in McCook with the Rev. Francis J. Campbell, OMI, officiating.

Burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery in McCook, with arrangements in charge of the Breland Funeral Chapel of McCook.

Pallbearers were Alfred Rippen, Chet Kotschwar, Paul Confer, Paul Moore, Don Meints, and Vincent Wallace.

Leon C. Forgue, son of Jerry J. and Rosie Forgue, was born at Zurich, Kansas on August 1, 1907 and died at his farm home southwest of Culbertson on January 21, 1960 at the age of 52 years.

He grew to manhood at Zurich and on March 12, 1925 he was married to Alma Greenwood, also of Zurich. In 1937 they moved to a farm southwest of Culbertson where they made their home for the past 23 years.

They were the parents of four children. An infant daughter, Mary Jane, preceded her father in death on January 28, 1927.

Survivors include his widow, Alma; two sons, Jerry of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Gale of Culbertson; one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Kreider of Arvada, Colorado; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry J. Forgue of Zurich, Kansas; three brothers, M.R. Forgue of McCook; Armond Forgue of Denison, Texas; and Leonard Forgue of Russell, Kansas; four sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Bedore of Culbertson; Mrs. Maurice Kern of Colby, Kansas; Mrs. William Haase Jr. of Plainville, Kansas; and Mrs. Verl Gilbert of Norwood, Missouri; and five grandchildren.
