Daughter of Elbridge Gerry Cabiness. She married Judge Peeples on 2 May 1850 in Monroe Co, GA. Their children included: Sallie M., Mary J., Henry C., Fannie N., Thomas J., Edwin, Howell C.

Atlanta Constitution, Jan 11 1899

Funeral services over the body of Mrs. Eliza C. Peeples, who died early Monday morning at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. A. F. Cooledge, 70 Merritts avenue, were conducted yesterday morning at 11 o'clock in the First Baptist church by Dr. J. B. Hawthorne, pastor of the First Baptist church of Nashville, assisted by Dr. Henry McDonald, pastor of the Second Baptist church of this city, and Rev. Alex W. Bealer, pastor of the Fifth Baptist church, of Atlanta.

The floral offerings were profuse, attesting the love and esteem felt for Mrs. Peeples by her large number of friends throughout the state. The congregation, assisted by the choir of the First Baptist church, rendered a number of hymns, several of them favorites of Mrs. Peeples. Short addresses were then made by Rev. Mr. Bealer and Dr. McDonald, both of whom referred to the noble character of the deceased.

Dr. Hawthorne's theme was "Christian Optimism," and he preached a beautiful sermon. His reference to Mrs. Peeples and to her charitable deeds were very affecting. Immediately after the funeral services the interment occurred in Oakland cemetery.
