In her youth, Alaire was very athletic, competing in sports ranging from swimming and diving to ice skating, tennis, and bowling. With a loveable, fiery, take- charge personality, she would regularly swim across the Detroit River between Amherstburg and Boblo Island. After marrying Dan, they owned/operated Bulmer Typewriter Company, in Windsor, ON until retiring in Amherstburg where they raised trotting horses.
She was preceded by her devoted husband, Daniel Rielly, and by her parents, Morris and Helen Menzies.
Her burial service will be held at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Amherstburg on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank all those in Amherstburg who were so kind to Alaire over her long life, especially the waitresses at Duffy's, Nancy of Caldwell Towers Apartments, also the terrific staff at Royal Oak Long Term Care Facility, and The Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT), Ontario, as well as Roger Brothers and Bev Bridgen at James H. Sutton Funeral Home for their thoughtful and expert handling of Alaire's final arrangements
