Funeral services for a well-known Lake View woman, Mrs. Ava Zeilman, 78, were held from the Farber and Otteman Funeral Homes in Lake View on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock with Melvin Hoff of the First Church of Christ Scientist of Mason City, in charge.

Mrs. LaGene Holdcroft was organist for the service. Casket attendants were Carl Sproul, Warren Bohnenkamp, Wilmer Peck, Herb Onstot, Lawrence Bruner and Harland Wetzstein. Interment was in Ferguson Cemetery.

Mrs. Zeilman was born at Anthon, Iowa on January 4, 1895, the daughter of George D. and Nina Armstron Mann. She died after a brief illness Saturday, June 23, at Loring Hospital.

Survivors include these grandchildren: Steven Kettering of Omaha, Nebraska; Mrs. Douglas (June) Manary of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Michael Kettering of Lake View; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Mann of Lake View and Iris, Mrs. Welch, of San Gabriel, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1956, her daughter, Zoe Kettering and a sister, Millie Merriom.

Ava Zeilman was a leader in civic affairs in Lake View, a 50 year member of the Eastern Star, a member of the Legion Auxiliary and active in the work of the Lake View Woman's Club. She had been in charge of the restoration of the Log Cabin and had given a good share of her time to that project the past few years.
