Mr. Lucas was a retired farmer and self-employed Carpenter. He was born January 31, 1897, in Des Moines County, the son of Fred and Ida Laue Lucas. He was married to Edna Schmidt in Des Moines County on December 16, 1920. Mr. Lucas was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Flat River Township.
Surviving: The wife; son's Eldon F. Lucas, Glendale, Arizona, and Keith M. Lucas, Phoenix, Arizona; daughter Mrs. Marjorie Ehlers, Burlington; brother Harry Lucas, Sperry; sisters Mrs. Selma Drebenstedt, Middletown, and Mrs. Esther Hummer, Burlington, and 10 grandchildren.
