Buena Bierstedt Beyer Stendebach formerly of Mathis, completed her earthbound service to others and passed from this world on March 30, 2014. Buena worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell, an office manager at the Mathis Cotton Gin, and an office manager for Mathis (Big 6) Grain Elevator from which she retired. Buena was a founding member of Grace Lutheran Church in Mathis. She was actively involved in the American Cancer Society and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Buena devoted her life to the service of others in Christ's name, from doing laundry for residents at the nursing home, preparing a hot meal for someone in need, to remembering each and everyone in her prayers and daily devotions. Buena was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Hilda Bierstedt, siblings Ella Bierstedt, Robert Bierstedt, Linda Blaschke, Norma Luedecke, Ervin Bierstedt, Herbert Bierstedt, Amanda Majek, Hertha Preusser, Cora Heldt, and her husbands Elmor Beyer and Jack Stendebach. She is survived by her daughter of Sherman, granddaughter of Sherman, a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and an extended family of friends.

The family requests Memorials be made to Grace Lutheran Church, The American Cancer Society, or Alzheimer's Research in lieu of flowers.

Funeral service were Friday April 4, 2014 at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Waldheim Cemetery in Tynan, Texas
