Mr. Cook died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
He was born Feb. 27, 1922, in Mercer County, the son of Arthur and Hulda Gustafson Cook. He married Martha L. Riggs April 10, 1943, in Columbia, Mo. She died in 1997.
He worked 30 years at John Deere Plow-Planter Works, Moline, retiring in May 1982 from the shipping department.
He was a radio operator in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He enjoyed farming, walking, and bird watching.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Bill Dunsworth, Davenport, Linda and Earl Bunch, Amory, Miss., and Janice and John Brixey, Rock Island; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Kathy Cook, Silvis, and Alan and Nancy Cook, Geneseo; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-granchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Pat Anderson, Rotunda West, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Jeanine Cook, East Moline; an aunt and uncle, Winifred and Willard Cook, Rock Island; two nieces, and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by a son, David, and grandson, Greg.
