She is survived by two daughters, Toni Collins and husband, Mike Wohlgamuth and Carolyn Walker and husband Andy; Granddaughters, Stephanie David and Brigitte Walker; Great grandson, Trace David and four sisters, Lucille Pierson, Johnnie "Boot" Cutrer, Bonnie Hoover, and Annie Laura Norred, all of Holden, LA.
She is the daughter of the late John Ballard and Nettie Efferson of Holden, LA.
She was a faithful member of First Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs and in more active times, enjoyed membership in and the activities of the Tara Garden Club, Bocage Racquet Club, East Baton Rouge Lions Club, Baton Rouge C.P.A. auxiliary and others.
She lived in Nashville in the eighties. Friends with producer of "Hee Haw" she still is occasionally seen in background scenes on the TV reruns. Her final days were fairly comfortable, and her illness brief, amazingly close to what she had prayed for. Her daughters were at her bedside, as was her close friend, Sister Deborah Huhn. Also at her bedside was ex-husband and friend to the end, Francis "Al" Collins. She leaves her love for us, and we treasure ours for her.
Visitation until funeral service, at First Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs. Interment to follow, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph's Hospice, 17732 Highland Road Suite G, Box 241 Baton Rouge, La. 70810 or First Pentecost Church of Denham Springs Missions.
Obituary published in The Advocate, Baton Rouge, La., from Mar. 28 to Mar. 30, 2014.
