Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth 80 were held Friday in the Monroe north ward chapel with bishop A C Lundgren officiating.
Musical numbers were “Some Time We’ll Understand” and “Rest for the Weary Soul” by the North ward choir; a violin and piano selection by Deleal Yergensen and Mrs. Madge Anderson and a solo “Sing me to Sleep” by Mrs. Wesley Pearce accompanied by Miss Austin Yergensen at the piano.
Speakers were Joseph H Jensen a neighbor and associate of the family Joseph A Smith, C A White and Wilford Hansen, Mrs. Wilford Hansen read a tribute from the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
The invocation was by George A Wooten the benediction by E M Jensen.
Mrs. Yergensen and her husband reared a large family 8 sons and 3 daughters. Mrs. Yergensen had been of a reserved nature and was not connected with public activities, but was a loving wife and mother and devoted to her home.
The American legion and sons of pioneers formed in line during the passing of the casket from the home and the church.
Beautiful flowers were a mute testimony of love to the family and friends. Six sons Orrin Andrew, Yergen, Charles, Heber and Al were pallbearers.
Among those who came to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. G A Wooten of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. A V Jones of Bountiful, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Forbush of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Robinson of Fillmore.
