James Aronhalt Rites. Cumberland Evening Times. Cumberland, Md. 12/5/1945.
Excerpt--Parson, Dec. 5--Services were held this afternoon from the United Brethern church at Bayard, W.Va., for James Aronhalt, 82, pioneer resident of Garrett county, Md., who died at the home of his son, G. A. Aronhalt, of Davis, W.Va., Sunday night. Interment was in the family cemetery on the farm near Table Rock. Mr. Aronhalt was born near Stoney River bridge near Gorman and came to Garrett county at the age of four, residing near Table Rock the remainder of his life. He was the last of a family of 10 children to the late John and Isabel Lee Aronhalt. He had been in ill health for several years and during the winter months had been residing with his sons at Davis and at Cumberland. In his active years he was engaged in farming and lumbering. Surviving are three children, G. A. Aronhalt, Davis; William F. Aronhalt, Cumberland, and Mrs. Keith Abernathy of Royal Park, Mich. His wife died in 1909.
