Josiah Atwood Is Dead at Age of 73
Josiah Atwood, 73, 311 Highland avenue, a resident of this vicinity nearly al his life and of Beloit for the last 20 years, died at 4:30 a.m. today at the Beloit Municipal hospital after an illness of more than a year.
Mr. Atwood was born Jan. 2, 1863, at New Milford. He was the son of Bradley and Emily Richardson Atwood. He formerly resided in Roscoe and Hunter township. He was a member of the West Side Presbyterian church.
Survivors are three cousins, C.B. and Walter Richardson of Roscoe, and Frank Richardson of Milton. A brother, Charles Atwood, died five years ago.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer chapel. The Rev. C.C. White will officiate. Burial will be in the Roscoe cemetery.
