Winifred "Winnie" Tinkham, 91, of Maxwell, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Winnie was born December 31, 1922, in Biggsville, Illinois to Francis and Grace (Weir) Gibb. She graduated valedictorian from Biggsville High School in 1941 and married Donald Tinkham on March 3, 1942, in Biggsville. Donald passed away in 2003. Winnie worked for H & C Johnson Company for 13 years as an office manager, retiring in 1985. She was a devoted member of the Maxwell Presbyterian Church and the PWC. Winnie enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and playing cards with friends.

Winnie is survived by her daughters-in-law, Connie Tinkham of Marion and Carol Tinkham of Maxwell; her grandchildren, Julie (Jeremy) Lucy, Austin Tinkham, Steven (Rhonda) Tinkham and Andrea (Paul) Robertson; her great-grandchildren, Cody, Kelsey, Christian, Charles, Hannah, Job, Ethan, Elsie, Olivia and Nolan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sons, Charles and Mike; her brother, Lloyd Gibb; and five sisters, Eva Price, Ellen Graham, Bunny Milligan, Billie Stotts and Jean Leinbach.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 4, at the Maxwell Presbyterian Church in Maxwell with Pastor Ian McMullen officiating. Winnie will be laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery in Iowa Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Maxwell Presbyterian Church or the Israel Family Hospice House.
