Jane Elvira Downing was born November 22, 1843, and died February 4, 1906, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tool, three miles southwest of New Hope church. Jane married Hullett Hutson, January 1, 1861. To this union were born five children, two sons and three daughters, four of whom live to mourn the loss of their mother. One daughter preceded her in death.
All of the children were present at the funeral, which was conducted from the home on Monday afternoon and internment in Fairview cemetery. Services by Rev. I. P. Cook of New Hope.
Deceased was known as a very fine woman and had been a great help to the people of her neighborhood during times of sickness and distress. All regret to learn of her death.
