Married February 14, 1839 to Rachel Fickel (May 21,1817 - June 12,1855), daughter of Mary Dusenberry Fickel and Joseph D. Fickel . Levi Shisler died of tuberculosis. Rachel Fickel Shisler and Levi Shisler had four children: Mary Shisler Hummel (1840-1916), Julia Ann Shisler Winegarner, Easter Elizabeth Shisler Keltner Baird, and son William A. Schisler. Following Levi Shisler's death, Rachel Fickel Shisler married Dr. Johann Heinrich Collais and bore a son, Benjamin Franklyn Collais (1852-1930). Rachel Fickel Shisler also succumbed to tuberculosis.
