Clinton ("Bummy") Douglas Forhan of Bellingham, WA, died Thursday, January 1, 2004, in Bellingham. He was 84, born July 17, 1919, in Seattle, WA, to William and Olive (Rutherford) Forhan, and moved at age three to Wenatchee, where he was reared.

Clint was nicknamed Bummy by his mother and was most commonly known as that throughout his life. He led a very adventurous life, beginning in and around the hills of Wenatchee and including swimming across the Columbia River, against his siblings' better judgment. In addition, during WWII, Clint flew with the 9th Air Force "Thunderbums" (P47s and P51s) as a flight leader, downed 11 German Aircraft and collected 19 decorations from three governments.

Clint retired after 37 years from Seattle First National Bank (Bank of America). He was a member of First Christian Church in Bellingham. Although Clint had many interests, nothing surpassed his love for his family and his interest in photography. His many thousands of photographs resulted in hundreds of pro-fessional-level scrapbooks that were given to fellow Seafirst Bank Retirees, family and friends, and dozens of sport teams, and athletic albums for the teammates of his sons' Little League, recreational, school, and college teams in which they participated.

Clint was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Grubbs. He is survived by his wife Frances (Colby) Forhan son Douglas and wife Cara Forhan, all of Bellingham son Craig and wife Tammy Forhan of Ferndale four grandchildren: Andrew and Matthew (Doug and Cara), Samantha and Alex (Craig and Tammy) sister Virginia Kinkade of Leavenworth brothers William (Laddie) Forhan of Everett John Forhan (Jenny) of Urbana, OH Tim Forhan (Wanda) of East Wenatchee Fred Fowler (Chris) of Lake Chelan and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Fund for Living Ministry at The First Christian Church in Bellingham.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 9, 2004, at Greenacres-Moles Memorial Park. A Memorial Service will follow the next day, Saturday, January 10, at 2:00 PM, at the First Christian Church, 495 E. Bakerview Road, Bellingham, with The Reverend Gary Shoemaker officiating.
