Donald C. Jenkins, 87, of Beavercreek, born March 9, 1927, died in the care of Hospice of Dayton March 23, 2014.


Husband of 63 years to Thelma Crisp Jenkins; loving father of Gary Jenkins (Terrie McManes) and Treva Jenkins (Julius Rastikis); cherished Grandfather of Sarah Jenkins and special grand-dogs Bitu and Eddie.


Don was preceded in death by his parents Cora (Smith) and Samuel Jenkins and 11 siblings. The youngest of 12, Don proudly served along side 4 of his brothers in the US Army during WWII in Italy. Don is survived by many loving extended family members and friends. Don was a man of great presence who engaged life to the fullest; he was a gregarious, respected role-model and mentor to family, colleagues, and friends. His good humor, intelligence, and fun-loving nature will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. Don was the plant engineer for Premier Rubber Products for 23 years before co-founding Jordan Products in 1973 where they manufactured windshield wiper blades for Anco. In 1983 he founded Jenco Products with his son, Gary. Don invented machinery for the rubber manufacturing industry including the chlorinator, an innovative chlorine process machine that made medical gloves powder-free. As a result of this invention, Don enjoyed many adventurous travels abroad to set up his machine.


A memorial service will be held at Newcomer, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH.


Visitation will be noon to 2 pm; services following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
