Marlow - GLADYS VIRGINIA PLOWMAN, 83, of Marlow, died Saturday, December 10, 2005, in Marlow.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with Danny Martin officiating. Burial will be in Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.
She was born Sunday, March 19, 1922, in Doyle Community, to John Riley and Victoria Shirley Riley. She attended school at Burris High community school. She was raised in the Doyle and Burris High communities until moving to Marlow in 1943, where she has been ever since.
She married Elmer Lloyd Plowman on Jan. 16, 1943, in Duncan. She was a member of the Fifth Street Baptist Church in Marlow.
Survivors include a son, Alvin Plowman of Marlow; five grandchildren, Andrew Lloyd Plowman and wife Lindsay of Marlow, Katrina Johnson and husband Solomon of Chickasha, Amber Brown of Chickasha, Tammy Phillips and husband John, and Tracy Dorsey and husband Kenny, all of Arkansas; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Elbert Riley of Duncan; two brothers-in-law, Clarence Plowman of Chowchilla, Calif., and Bill Plowman of Stratford; two sisters, Thelma Williams and LaWanda Reynolds, both of Marlow; and a sister-in-law; Geniva Mansfield of Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, on Dec. 22, 2001; a son, both parents, nine brothers, and a sister.
