Professional genealogist helped to confirm: Abner Howard (1788 - 1872), his descendants DNA connect to Nehemiah Howard (1735 - 1798) and his wife, Edith Smith (1740 - 1829); at least, through two of their sons, Baldwin Howard (1767 - 1835) and John Howard (1761 - 1822). Descendants of two of Abner Howard's children, Abner Howard (1812 - 1872) and and Minerva (Howard) Porter (1814 - 1867) DNA connect as cousins with descendants of Nehemiah and Edith; therefore, just by DNA only, Minerva Howard was a daughter of Abner and Priscilla (Bayne) Howard. Minerva Howard married John Porter. They had many children. They named their first two sons, Abner and Isaac. Minerva's father was Abner Howard and John's father was Isaac Porter. They named their first two daughters, Ann and Priscilla. Ann was named for John's mother, Ann (Wilson) Porter. Priscilla was named for Minerva's mother, Priscilla (Bayne) Howard. Two more daughters were named, Sarah and Celina - spelled different ways. Sarah was Minerva's father's second wife and Celina was a sister to Minerva. I DNA connect with descendants of Abner and Priscilla Howard through their children: Campbell (1811 - 1886); Abner (1812 - 1872); Minerva (1814 - 1867), my ggg grandmother; James (1816 - 1872); and, Celina (1820 - 1890). I have no DNA connection to Sowers Howard (1818 - ?). The last documentary evidence for Sowers was 1840 FC for Union Township, Brown County, Ohio when Sowers was listed next to his older brother, Campbell Howard. He had 1 male under 5, 1 male 20 - under 30, 1 female under 5 and 1 female 20 - under 30.
