Bamberg, March 29 [1923] -- Isaac Bamberg Felder, a prominent citizen of Bamberg, died at his home in this city Tuesday night at 7 o'clock. While Mr Felder had been in ill health for some time, his sudden death was quite a shock to his many friends, as he appeared to be better of late. Mr Felder died very suddenly, having been stricken only a few minutes before his death.
The remains were interred Wednesday afternoon at South End emetery, his pastor, the REv J W Daniel, D D, conducting the services. The grave was covered with beautiful floral designs from many admiring friends and relatives.
Mr Felder was born and reared in this vicinity, the son of Jacob D and Mary Cox Felder. He was 45 years of age and had been twice married, first to Miss Anne Black of Georgia, who preceeded him to the grave seven years ago. He was married four years ago to Miss Mildred Beaty of Georgetown, who survives him, as does one little son, Isaac, Jr, three years old. Four sisters, Mrs M E Ayer of Bamberg, Mrs G H Lever of Columbia, Mrs T H Watson and Mrs A M Watson of Whitmire, survive him, with two brothers, B T Felder of this city and J E Felder of Cope and a number of other relatives, including his aged father, J D Felder.
Mr Felder was a member of the Methodist church of this city and was one of Bamberg's best citizens. Many years ago he entered the firm of Rentz and Felder, one of the largest mercantile establishments of this section. He was possessed of a pleasing personality and was ever cheerful throughout his many years of ill health. He was held in high esteem and his passing will be a great loss to this city.
