The tombstone & newspaper dates of birth are wrong. All copied a legend from the family member at the time, claiming that Squire was that old. He was not. First, average all 5 of his census report ages & one gets an average birthdate of 1806. Second, a bible was found with a daughter of his, in which it states birth date is 1806. 3rd, I have studied his family, & his 10 siblings for decades, looking at estate files in Illinois where his parents died, death records of other siblings, with ages in them plus census reports establishing their ages. The birth date of 1806 for Squire only fits in 1806. Lastly, the oldest son of his parents was Moses, born in 1796, for certain, as his tombstone survives & both his & his father's estate files state he was the oldest. Thus, the birth date of 1793 for Squire is impossible. It does not matter what the internet says ,as the internet is almost all garbage, from people copying each other & doing no research whatsoever. Secondly, he had NO middle name. That comes from a mistake made on 1 deed whereon the recorder made a mistake and corrected it there by drawing lines through it. That so-called middle name has NEVER appeared anywhere, even an initial, in all the many documents seen over his lifetime. It seems commonplace because people look ONLY at the internet, which is people copying each other.
Squire married three times:
1. Phebe Wixom [3/28/1812 - 2/3/1849], 2/25/1827;
2. Melinda Tansey, 10/21/1849; LaSalle Co, Illinois;
3. Nancy Rhea Foutch [1806 – 11/28/1892]; 8/29/1850; Fulton Co, Illinois
Do not confuse Squire with his Uncle Squire [1787-3/1885]; buried in Ogle Co., Illinois
