Daniel Bailey, Sr., a lifelong resident of Maple Shade until he moved to Williamstown ten years ago, passed away on February 15, 2013. He was 87 years old. Daniel was a previous member of the Maple Shade VFW. He was a veteran of the Navy and bravely fought during WWII. He worked as a stationary engineer for many years at Campbell Soup Company in Camden, NJ, until their closing. Daniel was also an avid gardener. He loved to go hunting with his children, lifting weights and running. He also used to play for the Maple Shade Township Softball League. ...

Daniel was the husband of Irene (nee Van Zant) for 66 years, loving father of Daniel Jr. (Ellen) of Pitman, James of Belmawr, Robin Hunt (Tom) of Maple Shade, and Rick (Mary Ann) of Palmyra, dear brother-in-law of George Baker (Karen), beloved grandfather of 11, step grandfather of 2, and great-grandfather of 24, dear brother of Rena of Virginia, Jimmy of Maple Shade, Alan of Woodbury, and the late Ruth, George and Mary.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Daniel's life celebration at Inglesby/Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 East Main St., on Thursday evening from 7 - 9 pm and on Friday morning from 10:30 - 11:30 am. His prayer service will follow at 11:30 am.
Interment will be private.
