Glenn Walter Kiel, 84 of Vincennes, IN, died at 1:10 am October 1, 2011 in the BridgePointe Health Campus. He was born in Jonesville, Indiana, on February 17, 1927. His deceased parents were Grover Frederick Carl Kiel and Lydia Anna (Burbrink) Kiel. He attended Oaktown High School leaving school in 1944 to help run the family farm at the age of 17 and never really retired since farming was his hobby. He attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Vincennes. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne Kiel in April of 1989; a sister, Mildred Heitmuller, and his brothers, Woodrow and Harold Kiel. Survivors include three sons, Curtis Kiel of Vincennes, David and Rose Ann Kiel of Bossier City, LA, and Larry Kiel of Shobonier, ILL;two daughters, Brenda(Joe) Wells of Tallahassee, FL, and Sheila (Tom) Harmon of Greenwood, IN, and a sister, Lois Burge of Kentland, IN. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Karen and Brian Kiel, Matthew, Mitchell, and Garrett Kiel, Cody Kiel, Candace and Sean Wells, and Seth, Allison, and Jared Harmon and his great grandchildren; Cydnie and Adrienne Lawrence and Lauryn Kiel.Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 5th, from 4-8pm at Goodwin funeral home in Vincennes. A graveside memorial service for Glenn will be held on Thursday October 6th, 2011, at 10:00am in the Memorial Park cemetery with Rev. Ron Maxwell officiating.
