Bobby Dean Sheppard of Taylor passed away on March 15, 2014 at the age of 82. He was born May 16 1931 in Milam County to the late Jim Henry Sheppard and Maude Ann Morgan Sheppard. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Bobby Dean Sheppard Jr., by his wife Barbara Ann Wilson Sheppard of Thorndale on May 11, 1988, by his sister Edith Bonin of Port Arthur, his brothers Willis Gambrell of Thorndale, Giles (Jimmy) Gambrell of Port Arthur, and William (Bill) D. Sheppard of Thorndale.

He is survived by his wife Marie Crabb. Daughters: Linda Day and husband Scott of Fort Worth, Vicki Vega of Temple, Kathy Bright and husband Steve of Rockdale, Sherry Hord , of Great Falls, Montana, Billie Jean Sheppard of Houston and Bobbie Hamilton and husband Rob of Great Falls, Montana. Step Daughter: Sharon Rodriguez of Round Rock. Sons: Jimmy Sheppard and wife Nancy of Washington, Donald Sheppard and wife Kathy of Cameron, and Henry Sheppard and wife Sandra of Clinton, Arkansas. Stepsons: Robert Crabb, Jr. and wife Lynn of Taylor and Timothy Crabb and wife Teresa of College Station 30 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and sister-in-law Berdie Gambrell and Special Friends David Butler and David Mace.

Bob was President and member of the Conoley Community Church, the Masonic Lodge Thorndale, and The American Legion. He previously served in the United States Air Force, and the Confederate Air Force. He was retired from Alcoa, and had previously served as a police officer in several cities.

The visitation will be at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor on Tuesday, March 18 from 6:00-8:00p.m. as well as the service on Wednesday, March 19 at 10:00am., followed by the burial at the Taylor City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Conoley Community Church at P.O. Box 537 Thorndale, Tx. 76577 or any charity of your choice.
