John Sharman was, for many years, proprietor of the old hostelry known as the 'Dry Tavern', in Spring Twp., and also owned the adjoining farm. He subsequently moved to Reading where he died aged about eighty years.
He was first married to Rebecca Graeff, with whom he had all of his children. When she passed away, he married her sister, Hannah Graeff.
