WHITEWRIGHT - Thelma Jo Brinlee Durham was born August 2, 1918 in Pilot Grove, Texas to James Brinlee and Clara Griffin Brinlee. She married Louis Henderson Durham in Anna, Texas on January 1, 1938. She died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the age of 95.
Thelma and her husband owned and operated a grade A dairy farm, Durham Dairy Farm for 25 years. She also worked for the US Postal Service for nine and a half years. She was a member of the Whitewright Literary Club and the First United Methodist Church of Whitewright.
She is survived by son, Bobby Durham and wife Linda of Whitewright; granddaughters, Denise Selman and husband Kelly; and Donna Pittman all of Whitewright; great-grandchildren, Derek Rogers and wife Sheena of Colbert, Oklahoma; Lane Selman and wife Amanda of Frisco; Courtney Rogers of Houston; Braeden Pittman of College Station; and Keely and Natalie Selman of Whitewright; two great-greatgrandsons, Oaklee Rogers and Hadlee Selman; sister, Patricia Pryor of Van Alstyne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis Durham; son, E. J. Durham; daughter, Judy Durham Wolfe.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Whitewright, Texas. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright, Texas.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 10 a.m. until service time at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.
Memorials may be made to the Heart to Heart Hospice.
