Connolly - Passed away at his home Friday, Sea Island, one of Eburne's well known and respected residents in the person of Thomas Connolly. Mr. Connolly was an old resident of Eburne, coming from Belwood, Ontario, about 16 years ago. He was in his 75th year. Born in Montreal July 12, 1838, he moved when quite young to Wellington county, Ontario, where he lived until coming to B.C. He there took for his companion through life's walk Miss Harriet Etsell, of Walkerton, Ontario, who survives him. To the marriage were nine children survive him with the exception of Cyrus, who passed away at the same place four years ago. To the bereaved widow and family is extended the community's deepest sympathy.
To mourn his departure he leaves an aged widow and four sons and four daughters, Henry, of Swartz Creek, Michigan; Alex E., of Surrey Centre, B.C.; John and Albert, of this city; Mrs. J. Leybourne, of Eburne; Mrs. C. M. Nicholson and Mrs. J. W. McLeod, of this city; Mrs. William McCallum, of Heathcoate, Ontario. Also 44 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The funeral took place yesterday from the home at 10 o'clock to Mountain View cemetery, Vancouver, being largely attended from Eburne and friends and relations from Vancouver and this city. Rev. Mr. White, of Eburne Presbyterian Church, conducted the services. The pallbearers were Thomas W. Gray, James A. Gray, Isaac Johnson, A. Connolly, nephews, and A. E. Connolly, J. Connolly, sons.
