"Quilting Artist Dies in S.L.
MURRAY--Mrs. Sarah Fechser Jensen, 76[sic-78], 4594 Cherry St., Murray, whose crocheting and quilting have taken county fair prizes for several years, died in a Salt Lake hospital Wednesday at 11 p.m. of coronary occlusion with myocardial failure.

"She was born Feb. 8, 1868, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of John and Ida Johnson Fechser. In 1893 she moved to Murray, where she had lived since. In 1884 she was married to Niels H. Jensen in Mt. Pleasant. He died in 1906.

"An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was an enthusiastic Relief Society worker in Murray Second LDS ward. For several years her handwork--particularly her crocheting--had won prizes for her at county fairs. Quilting also was a hobby.

Fred Fechser and Mrs. Elizabeth Harrison, all of Salt Lake City; James F. Fechser, Moroni, Sanpete County; Hyrum Fechser, Glendale, Cal.; Mrs. Ella Jensen, Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Royina E. Madsen, Sandy; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren."
