Aged 57 years, the son of John Forbes and Constant Mitchell.

Caleb married 30 June 1681 in Norwich, New London County, Connecticut to SARAH GAGER, born February 1651 in New London, and died about 1702, age 50 years. Sarah was a daughter of John Gager. John was born 25 May 1620 in Little Waldingfield, Suffolk County England and died 10 Dec 1703 in Norwich, New London, Connecticut, age 83, the son of William Gager (1590/2 Eng-1630 MA), a Surgeon. John Gager married before 1647 in England to Elizabeth Gore (1618- )

Caleb Fobes was a Constable on the east side of Norwich, Connecticut in 1684-85; First Deacon in Church of Preston; Selectman; Town Treasurer; Committee on Land and Highways; was a signer of the Preston, Connecticut petition to the Legislature for incorporation of the town in October 1686 and named among the fifteen landholders on the Plantation Act, dated 15 January 1686, on record at Preston. He was a Connecticut volunteer in the Narragansett Campaign of King Philip's [Indian] War and an original proprietor of Voluntown, Ct. At the time of his death, his estate was valued at $3,125.

A qualifying ancestor for the Society of Colonial Wars.
