Janie Agnes Wardlaw Morrah, 69, died at her home on the McCormick to Abbeville Highway in the Bellvue section of McCormick County on July 27, 1930. Mrs. Morrah was a direct descendant of pioneer settlers of this area; the Wardlaws in the 1780s and the Widemans in the 1760s.

She married Samuel Patrick Morrah of Troy, South Carolina on Dec. 22, 1880. They were the proud parents of seven children. Mr. Morrah was a well-known farmer and active citizen of the community. Mrs. Morrow was a methodical housekeeper and loving mother. She was a member of the Lower Long Cane ARP Church and was involved in the many actives of the Church. McCormick County has lost one of its outstanding citizens.
