The Elvis Tribute Artist Community has lost a very beloved member. Our dear friend Elisha Sheehan has battled cancer almost the last year and though her joy never left, the cancer took her away. Always a Beautiful Smile! Always positive - cheerful - joyful and just an absolute DELIGHT to be around. Her friends and family are broken hearted over losing this special lady to all of us.
Elisha had a wonderful time in August 2013 at Elvis Week in Memphis! She met and became friends with countless Elvis Tribute Artists and other celebrities. Also, in August - she came to Texas for "ETA" Ned Spencer's show in Sherman, TX. and this is where I was blessed to meet her. We bonded instantly! We spent the next few months on the phone, on Facebook, I love mailing treats and postcards - We had fun!!
On November 21, 2013, she was cleared by the hospital to "go ahead" and make the trip to Memphis for the lighting of Graceland for Christmas - and her photos were fabulous!
On December 14, 2013, she made a second trip to TEXAS for the Elvis Christmas with Friends Show with "ETA" and friend Ned Spence in Sherman, TX. - This time she was very tired, so I drove her car to my home and she spent the night with us. We sat up so late chattering like teenagers! Was wonderful!
Elisha was so looking forward to Elvis' Birthday on January 8th - but that day found her in OU Medical Center having Brain Surgery for the cancer had spread. My Mama and I drove up to visit her and give her a hug! She was in ICU, and she had not received her Happy Birthday Elvis Balloons and flowers we had sent. Went to the 7th floor and they were sitting in the hallway! Goodness! Took them to Elisha and she was elated - ELVIS! Her happiness was what mattered to us all.
As things progressed and Elisha was able to go into a nursing facility, we went up to visit and plans were being made for an Elvis Event for March 1st with Ned Spencer and even JAKE-FM was on board. But her condition worsened and time ran out.
February 15th, happy and coloring! Never fearful or down - So full of God's grace.
In March, Elisha called me and asked me if I would video a message to all of her family and friends, and of course I told her "YES" - anything to make her happy. We drove up from Dallas and she shared her love.
