Funeral for James Richard Atchley, 83 of 813 Austin St. SW, who died Wednesday at Parkway Medical Center, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Point Mallard Parkway Baptist Church, the Rev. Jimmy Jones and the Rev. Joe Hoover officiating with burial in New Friendship Cemetery, Shelton Funeral home directing.

Survivors include his wife Mrs. Alice Atchley of Decatur; three daughters Mrs. Mary Alice Watkins and Mrs. Bernice Miller both of Somerville and Mrs. Juanita Duffey of Decatur; two sons Harold Atchley and Douglas Atchley both of Decatur; 15 grand-children, several great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Tarlton of Decatur, several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Steve Atchley, Ricky Miller, Randy Miller, Jeff Duffey, Greg Duffey, Paul Atchley.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Point Mallard Parkway Baptist Church and members of the Jesse Davenport Sunday school class.

The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service.

He was a deacon of Point Mallard Parkway Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I.
