SPANISH FORK – Marie Nelson Nielsen, 73, Spanish Fork, died Friday morning at her home. She was born July 7, 1898, in Palmyra, a daughter of Peter E. and Telula Chrismon Nelson. She married Jack Burton Sept. 28,1917, in the Salt Lake Temple and they were later divorced.
She then married Ezra Lewis on Dec. 31, 1946, and he died Jan. 14, 1953. She married Albert Nielsen on Aug. 3,1955, in Provo and he died Sept. 29, 1963. She was a member of the LDS Church, being a Relief Society teacher in the Spanish Fork Fourth Ward.
Mrs. Nielsen received her education in Spanish Fork schools and during World War II worked in a small arms munitions factory in Salt Lake City.
Survivors include one son and one daughter, Elmo Burton, Chico, Calif.; Mrs. Woody (Lula) Steuart, Ohio; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers and five sisters, LeRoy Nelson, Ogden; Charles Nelson, Las Vegas, Nev.; Mrs. Ares (Margaret) Gammell, Orem; Mrs. Wilford (Esther) Youd, Lake Shore; Mrs. Frank (Hannah Mae) Gardner, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Roy (Hortense) Taylor, Provo; Mrs. Glen (Beulah) Holt, Palmyra.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Spanish Fork Fourth LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Frank C. Argyle officiating. Friends may call at the Linde Mortuary Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
