He married Mary Smith (ca1826-ca1869)
ca1844. She was his second cousin.
They had eight children:
(1) Eliza Jane Griffin (Aug.1845-Jan.16,1934)
died in Seattle, WA. She married John W.
Kenney/Kinney on Aug. 16, 1882 in Essex
County, Ontario. He was the reported son
of Washington and Emeline (Luce) Kenney
and native of Maine.
Two sons were born -
Ezra Newton (June 9,1883-July 23,1952)
who died in Aberdeen, Grays Harbor, WA and
Albert (July 1886-Mar.13,1932) who died
in Tacoma, WA.

(2) John Smith Griffin (July 22, 1848-
June 28, 1921) died in N. Cowichan on
Vancouver Island, BC. He was married
twice: first to Sarah Bruner on June 11,
1873 who died within three years; and
second to Emily Shilson (sibling of Loretta,
William and Louisa below) on May 21, 1877.
The Shilson siblings were children of
Matthew Shilson and Ann B. Webb.

(3) Mary Catherine Griffin (1850-Jun.10,1939)
married William George Kirkruff (Jun.14,1848-
Jan. 19, 1922) on Oct. 4, 1871 in Halton
County, Ontario. He is buried in Norway,
Oregon. She died in Portland, OR, although
time was spent in CA after husband's death.

(4) William H. Griffin (May 25, 1853-Nov. 8,
1934) married Loretta Mary Shilson (1859-
1931) on May 21, 1877 in Essex County, ON.
Both buried in Albuna Cemetery, Essex County.

(5) Deby Elizabeth Griffin (Apr.14,1854-
July 26,1886) married William Webb Shilson
on Aug.5,1873. She is buried in Albuna
Cemetery in Essex County, Ontario.

(6) Alfred Wesley Griffin (June 8, 1858-
Mar.18,1927) married Louisa Harriet Shilson
(1863-1959) on Dec. 6, 1882. Both are buried
in Lakeview Cemetery, Leamington, Ontario

(7) Jacob Kelley Griffin (Aug.1861-
Oct.16,1919) died in Coos, Oregon.
He was unmarried.
