He retired from Hammermill Paper Co. in 1980, after 42 years of service. He was a longtime member of The Church of the Holy Trinity Russian Old Believers in Erie. He was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Pirates.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Isabelle Del Porto Evanoff in 2005, one son, Charles Evanoff (d 1973); one daughter, Jacqueline Menzel; three sisters, Kilikea Ivanov, Nia "Nellie" Ferrick, and Ann Gauriloff, and four brothers, Leo, Peter, Harry, and Michael Evanoff.
He is survived by two daughters, Joanne Demyanovich and her husband Bill, and Cynthia Mack and her husband Chris, all of Erie; one son, Peter Evanoff and his wife Kate of Erie, 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Joanne (Gene) McDowell of Oil City, Pa., and son-in-law James Menzel of Erie. Charles is further survived by one sister, Anita Robson; two brothers; Lawrence and Fritz Evanoff, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will follow in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.
