Betty Montgomery Futrelle age 89, formerly of Wilmington, peacefully left this earth Friday February 13, 2015 at her home in Willard. She was a loving and faithful wife of 50 years to Sam Futrelle who preceded her in death. They owned Futrelle Home Furnishings of Wilmington. Betty was born October 30, 1925 in Tuscaloosa AL, daughter of the late Tim and Bebe Clary Montgomery of New Bern, NC. Betty is survived by her son Freddy of Arkansas, loving daughter and caregiver, Suzanne and husband Dewayne of Willard; four grandchildren, Lindsay, Carly, Jesse and Bailey; and four great grandchildren. Betty was a devout Christian who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She also loved to listen to music, for it was her therapy. One of her favorite places in the world was the NC Mountains where she always felt she was closest to the Lord. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Monday February 16, 2015 at Harrell's Funeral Home Chapel. Ken Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park in Hampstead. The family would like to thank everyone who helped Betty in her time of need. A special thank you to Lower Cape Fear Hospice for all of their love and support.
