Erling Ivan Kroupa, 81, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming Mr. Kroupa passed away following a lengthy illness.
He was born on October 24, 1931 in Lake Andes, South Dakota, the son of the late Vladimir Kroupa and Pearl Jones-Kroupa.
Mr. Kroupa attended schools in Kimball, South Dakota.
He married Marian K. Bennett in Manila, Utah on September 5, 1959 and she preceded him in death on May 30, 1989 in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Mr. Kroupa served in the United States Army in Europe during the Korean Conflict.
He worked as a mechanic for Mountain Fuel/Questar Gas for thirty-one years until his retirement in 1992.
His interests included gambling, polka dancing, traveling, gardening and loved his family.
Survivors include his longtime companion Penny Holt of Green River, Wyoming; three sons Erling Dale Kroupa and wife Leslie of Green River, Wyoming, Delbert Ivan Kroupa and wife Heather of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Daryl Jay Kroupa and wife Lanette of Rock Springs, Wyoming; one daughter Leanna Dernovich and husband Steve of Rock Springs, Wyoming; one sister Sally Rohrbuck of Mitchell, South Dakota, ten grandchildren Jacob Dale Kroupa, Kristin Nillis, Katherine Kroupa, Adam Kroupa, Darion Kroupa, Daunte Kroupa, Tanisha Floyd, Domonic Basinger, Lyndzie Kroupa and Makenzie Kroupa and one great-grandson Brohden Kroupa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother Jack Kroupa.
