Owen Dillard Peters, 88 of Springfield passed away at 5:55 am Saturday, March 1, 2014 in Quail Creek. He was born March 6, 1925 to O. D. and Pearl Peters in Crane, Missouri. He married Vaneta Wildman November 9, 1945 in Aurora, MO. They lived in San Francisco, CA until Owen completed his naval service in 1946. After the navy, they lived in Michigan for a short time before returning to Crane, MO, their childhood hometown. They resided in Crane until 2002 when they moved to Springfield. He was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Crane, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers and a sister.
Owen is survived by daughters, Suzanne Hasler (Bill) and Judy Hillman (Bob); son, Jerry Peters (Vonda); grandchildren, Kristi Hasler; Amy and Kane Wildforster; Billy and Jane Hasler; Mark Peters; Mary and Bud Hogan; Lori Hillman; Troy and Melissa Peters; and great-grandchildren, Delaney Murrell, Blu Wildforster, Jack Haydon, Quaid and Emree Hasler, Jack & Nick Hogan, and Olivia Peters.
