son of Aaron & Eunice Lyman
I am currently research Dr. Elihu Lyman as he is my 4th great grand father.
From genealogical books he was the son of John & Hope Hawley.
If you have more information please let me know.
According to historical records he had two children:
Alfred (my third great grand father) ? - ?
Maria
He was also the brother of Esther Hawley Lyman wife of David Beecher.
According to a family member:
Eliju Lyman is buried in the Benton family plot with his sister Katherine Benton in an unmarked grave.
I have found a website that lists Alfred DOD as May 4, 1843. I am pretty sure it is correct because it lists Dr. Elihu Lyman and John Lyman - with his correct DOD.
www.dunhamwilcox.net - let me know if this is good information.
I am being told by some family members that Elihu may have moved to Massachusetts and died there in June of 1817.
Also been told he may have had a son named after him who was born the same year he died, but not confirmed.
Elihu was a doctor, but was captured by the British, until he was released in a prisoner exchange about a year later. He never returned to his practice after being released and left the military also.
